Drill Description
On the whistle, both ends go simultaneously.
The D (red) and the F (blue) skate into the neutral zone, the D with a puck (staying outside of the center ice circle), passes (pass 1) to the D (red) waiting in line at the opposite end.
The F (blue) stays wide, then skates into the middle (just above the face off circles) and receives a pass (pass 2) from the D in the other end.
The F (blue) now with the puck, stays wide and turns up the ice (back towards the original end started from) to attack the D (red) 1 vs 1, who has been tracking and gaping the forward the whole time.
Focus:
– D remember to stay out of the center ice circle.
– Select a good pivot point where tracking and gaping
– F – Support and swing low when receiving the pass to attack the 1 vs 1.
– Attack with speed and drive the net
